Using the Internet in Education

In the beginning ... there was the High Performance Computing Act of 1991 - designed to wire our nation's schools.  This Act was extended by the Clinton and G.W. Bush administrations.  As a result, by 2002, 99% of public schools in the U.S. had access to the Internet.  94% of these schools had broadband connection; 86% had a school web site; 23% had wireless connections.
